Equity MFs that fell less than Sensex
Coronavirus pandemic has created havoc in the stock market and no denying the fact that due to this, equity mutual fund has also got affected. While Sensex fell 24 per cent in the past one month, many mutual funds (MFs) nosedived even more than that. However, there are funds that have been affected comparatively less. Not only this, even better performing funds too have lost money. In the past three months, Sensex gave negative returns of 30 per cent. As we can see that pharma category, followed by international and technology fell less than Sensex; banking category was the one that lost the most as it gave negative returns of 42 per cent. Even the infrastructure and energy were on the losing side. Having said that, currently accumulating units of large-cap and mid-cap funds in a phased manner makes more sense as looking at the volatility in the market, there are high chances of you getting an opportunity to buy at a lower price.
