Cyient provides drone to fight COVID-19

Cyient has announced that the company is providing drone-based surveillance technology for supporting Telangana State Police in implementing the strict COVID-19 lockdown in the city of Hyderabad.

With the help of this technology, the police will be able to make lockdown-related announcements and can also organise their ground forces to monitor the situation in the congested areas of Hyderabad. To support the efforts of the police in fighting the pandemic, the drones are installed with surveillance cameras, thermal imaging payloads and sky speaker for public announcements. This provides for situational awareness on a real-time basis thereby, allowing police to deploy required resources quickly to manage any arising situations.

Appreciating Cyient’s support in combating the pandemic, Cyberabad police tweeted: “Great collaboration with Cyient to stop the spread of COVID-19. Their drone-based surveillance is assisting our ground forces to monitor sensitive areas in the city. Visuals from the drones are enabling correct decisions on moving forces to sensitive areas.”

Cyient Limited, previously known as Infotech Enterprises Limited, is engaged in providing software-enabled engineering and geographic information system (GIS) services. The company's business segments include data & network operations (DNO), engineering, manufacturing, industrial products (EMI) and product realisation (PR).
