Colgate-Palmolive reports Q4FY20 PAT of Rs 204 crore

Colgate-Palmolive reported its fourth quarter of FY19 result today. Revenue for the quarter came in at Rs 1,071.26 crore, registering six per cent YoY decline.

EBITDA for the quarter fell by 11.3 per cent YoY to Rs 262.87 crore with a corresponding margin contraction of 146 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 24.5 per cent. This margin contraction was led by higher input cost incurred during the quarter.

PAT for the quarter came in at Rs 204.15 crore, with YoY increase of 3.3 per cent. This was due to 64 per cent YoY increase in other income and a lower effective tax rate in Q4FY20.

Net sales for the entire year of 2019-20 were at Rs 4,487.6 crore, with a marginal increase of 1.2 per cent from its corresponding period of the previous year. Net Profit for the year was at Rs 816.5 crore, as against Rs 775.6 crore for the previous year.

The company has declared a second interim dividend of Rs 16 per share, aggregating to Rs 435.18 crore, which will be paid on and from June 16, 2020.

The stock of Colgate-Palmolive turned volatile post announcement of this result and tanked nearly five per cent to touch an intraday low of Rs 1,288.65 apiece.
