Closing Bell: Sensex plunges 202 points today
On the first day of the week, Sensex closed below 202.05 points at 41,055.69 levels, down by 0.49 per cent while, Nifty managed to close at 12,045.90 levels, down by 0.56 per cent.
The top five losers of S&P BSE Sensex are: ONGC-down by 3.20 per cent, Sun Pharma-down by 2.37 per cent, NTPC-down by 2.26 per cent, Bajaj Auto-down by 2.20 per cent and HDFC-down by 2.14 per cent.
S&P BSE Mid-cap plunged down by 0.91 per cent and closed at 15,518.94 levels while, S&P BSE Small-cap erased gains by closing at 14,532.45 levels, down by 1.02 per cent. The top three losing small-cap stocks are: Clariant Chemicals India-down by 16.22 per cent, MAS Financial Services-down by 13.21 per cent and Shemaroo Entertainment-down by 9.96 per cent.
The top three losing sectoral indices today are: S&P BSE Oil & Gas, S&P BSE Utilities and S&P BSE Realty, which is down by 2.39 per cent, 2.07 per cent and 1.53 per cent, respectively.
