Closing bell: Sensex erase gain by ending 200 points lower
During Wednesday’s trading session, Sensex and Nifty erased their gains as Sensex slipped by 0.50 per cent and closed at 41,115.38 level while, Nifty closed at 12,106.90, down by 0.52 per cent.
The top five losers of BSE Sensex are: Tejasnet down by 8.09 per cent, followed by NLC India-down by 5.90 per cent, Oil down by 4.68 per cent, ONGC down by 5.13 per cent and the last one in this list is Coal India-down by 5.07 per cent.
BSE mid-cap slipped by 0.32 per cent and closed at 15,536.63 levels while BSE small-cap sank 0.13 per cent and closed at 14,633.16 levels. Small-cap stocks like Vipul Ltd and Zuari Industries Ltd pulled the Sensex down by 9.31 per cent and 8.70 per cent, respectively.
S&P BSE Metal, Oil & Gas and Power were the top losers amongst sectoral indices making the Sensex go down by 1.57 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 1.45 per cent, respectively.
