Cement and construction materials stocks: Do not turn blind eye to them as 7 stocks turn multibagger in CY2021

Indian markets have been on a roll as in the last six trading sessions, it has been hitting fresh record highs. Moreover, the last 1,000 points rally i.e., from 16,000 to 17,000 moves was one of the fastest moves seen in history.   

One of the striking points of the current rally has been the sector rotation where we have seen passing the torch of leadership from one sector to another. Stocks of one of the sectors, which have not been in much limelight, have lately shown a glimpse of momentum build-up in the cement sector stocks.   

Let’s have a look at the performance of stocks from the cement sector in the calendar year 2021 (CY2021). There are about 27 stocks in the cement & construction materials-related stocks on NSE. Interestingly, out of these 27 stocks, 7 stocks have gained over 100 per cent while 8 stocks gained between 50 and 99 per cent. None of the stocks have delivered negative returns.   

So, here is the list of top 7 performing stocks in CY2021 from cement & construction materials:   

Andhra Cement: The stock of Andhra Cement has been the top-performing stock from the group of cement and construction material as it jumped nearly 291 per cent in CY 2021.   

HIL Ltd: The second-best performing stock in the group is HIL as it gained 140 per cent in CY 2021.   

Sagar Cements: The stock of Sagar Cements has soared nearly 113 per cent in CY2021.   

Sanghi Industries: The stock has gained nearly 111 per cent in CY2021.   

JK Lakshmi Cement: It has surged 108 per cent in CY2021.  

Anjani Portland Cement: The stock gained about 106 per cent in CY2021.   

Mangalam Cement: The stock rose about 101 per cent in CY2021.
