S&P BSE Auto Index jumped by 0.79 per cent outperforming the frontline indices after recording gains of 188.49 points, while the Sensex fell by 0.31 per cent or 164.11 points to close at 52,318.60.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) announced on Thursday that its board accorded stage-1 approval for setting up of India’s first-ever Styrene Monomer Project at the firm’s Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana with a total capacity of Rs 3.87 lakh tonnes per annum.   

The shares of Unichem Laboratories Limited were trading higher today by 3 per cent intraday after the company announced that it has received tentative approval from United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for Aripiprazole tablets in the strengths of 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg and 30 mg.   

The stock is up by nearly 200 per cent from the lows of May 2020 and it’s nearing a multi-year breakout. It registered the highest single-day volume since May 05, 2021.   

Drug manufacturer, Zydus Cadila announced on Thursday that it has applied for emergency use authorisation (EUA) to the office of Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for ZyCoV-D - its plasmid DNA vaccine against COVID-19.  

Hence, a successful E20 programme can save the country US $4 billion per annum, i.e., Rs 30,000 crore. Besides, ethanol is a less-polluting fuel and offers equivalent efficiency at a lower cost than petrol.  

Suzlon has narrowed its losses in the recent quarter with improving total income YoY.

India Glycols Limited (IGL) along with Clariant has completed the creation of their 49-51 per cent joint venture for renewable ethylene oxide (EO) derivatives after receiving all the necessary regulatory approvals. The joint venture will operate under the name, Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals Private Limited.
