BSE Small-cap companies that gained the most in the pre-opening session today!

These gains were made at a time when the markets were recovering from Wednesday’s bloodbath on D-Street.

In a surprise move on Wednesday, RBI Governor announced a 40 bps hike in the repo rate to 4.4 per cent, which sent shockwaves across the stock and bond markets. While the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex tumbled 2.29 per cent, stocks from the auto and banking sectors, which are sensitive to interest rate changes, also took a plunge.

In the pre-opening session today, barring BSE SME IPO index, all indices were trading in the green, which could be an indicator that the markets have adjusted to the key interest rate hike. The broad market index S&P BSE Sensex was up by around 1 per cent to the level of 56,255.07.

Amid this recovery following Wednesday’s fall, the following Group A stocks gained the most in the first 15 minutes of the day.

Topping the list, Matrimony.com Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap stock, soared 11.01 per cent to Rs 770 at 9.07 am.

Apollo Pipes Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap stock, rallied 5.87 per cent to Rs 589 on the bourses. This company is one of the leading PVC pipe manufacturers in India.

Similarly, KPIT Technologies Ltd, one of S&P BSE 500 companies, surged 5.79 per cent to Rs 559.95. The company provides software to automotive companies.
