BSE PSU Index: HAL Top Performing PSU stock in August; Hindustan Zinc Top Loser

The PSU stocks have taken a backseat in August with more PSU stocks underperforming with only a handful PSU stocks outperforming BSE Sensex. BSE PSU index is down by 1.30 per cent in August while BSE Sensex is up by more than 7 per cent in similar timeframe.

On Tuesday the BSE PSU Index is seen outperforming the frontline indices lead by superior performance of the PSU Banks. Indian Bank is the top BSE PSU index gainer; up by more than 4 per cent followed by Canara Bank which is up by 3.8 per cent on an intraday basis. 

SBI, IOC,NTPC and Coal India are some of the leading PSU gainers that are contributing the most to the index gains on Tuesday. 

While Hindustan Copper is the top loser in August from the BSE PSU index component we have HAL as the top PSU gainer.
