BSE A Group: These PSUs were among the top gainers on October 17

Know which stocks rallied on the bourses.

On October 18, the Sensex closed up by 0.9 per cent or 549 points at 58,960.60 while BSE PSU gained 1.9 per cent or 171 points and closed at 9,123.28.   

    BHEL and NHPC witnessed positive action in today’s session.    

  Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) gained 8.34 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 68.20. Shares of BHEL logged an intraday high and low of Rs 69.20 and 62.80, respectively.  BHEL is the flagship engineering and manufacturing company of India owned and controlled by the Govt. of India. Further, BHEL has entered into a Non-Binding MoU with Coal India Limited (CIL) and NLC India Limited (NLCIL) on October 12 for setting up coal gasification projects.  

  The shares of NHPC zoomed 6.73 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 42. The shares of the company logged intra-day highs and lows of Rs 42.70 and Rs 38.85. NHPC is a Mini Ratna category I public sector utility, it is Government of India’s flagship hydroelectric generation company. The company is primarily involved in the generation and sale of bulk power to various power utilities.
