BHEL secures order worth Rs 1,405 crore from NPCIL for supply of nuclear steam generators
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a government-owned engineering & manufacturing enterprise, announced today that it has secured a major order for the supply of 12 steam generators from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL).
This order is valued at Rs 1,405 crore and falls under NPCIL’s fleet mode procurement programme. As per the deal, BHEL will supply 12 steam generators for the country’s highest-rated indigenously developed 700 MWe pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWR), which will be set up at four different locations in India. The steam generators would be manufactured at the company’s Tiruchirappalli plant.
Along with this, the company has also bagged NPCIL tender worth Rs 10,800 crore for the provision of 6x700 MWe turbine island packages.
Prior to this, BHEL had secured an order for the supply of 32 reactor header assemblies, which fell under NCPIL’s fleet mode implementation programme of 10x700 MWe nuclear projects. This project is currently under execution.
At 12.15 pm, the share price of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was trading at Rs 66.70, a decline of 0.45 per cent from its previous day’s closing price of Rs 67 on BSE.
