BHEL rises on bagging order worth Rs. 486 crore

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured an order worth Rs. 486 crore for erection work of reactor side equipment of 2x1000 MWe (Units 3&4) Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu which is being set up under foreign co-operation (Russia).

The order has been placed on BHEL by Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). It was for the same project that the company had earlier secured an order for erection work of Turbine Generator (TG) island. The company has also successfully executed the erection work of TG island for Units 1&2 at Kudankulam.

In the previous week, BHEL won an order for emission control equipment from Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company (BRBCL), a joint venture of NTPC and Indian Railways. Valued at about Rs. 750 crore, the order involves supply and installation of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system at 4x250 MW Nabinagar project of BRBCL in Aurangabad district of Bihar.

On Monday, the shares of the company opened at Rs. 64 against Friday’s close of Rs. 63.60. At 15:11 hours, it was trading at Rs. 64.15 per share, 0.86 per cent higher than its previous close. The intraday high was Rs. 64.25 and intraday low was Rs. 62.95. Its 52-week high was Rs. 83.25 and 52-week low was Rs. 56.25 per share on the BSE.
