BEL signs MoU with BPL Medical Technologies

Indian state-owned aerospace & defence company, Bharat Electronics Limited announced on Thursday after the market hours that the company has signed MoU with BPL Medical Technologies Pvt Ltd to provide affordable healthcare for the country. 

The company will leverage policy initiatives of the Indian Government, such as ‘Make in India’ to offer affordable healthcare for the country. Both the companies are inclined to co-operate and work together, pursuant to which, necessary manufacturing ToT and licence grant will be made to BEL by BPL Medical to enable manufacturing & sale of patient monitoring systems and C-ARM Surgical Imaging System. 

Bharat Electronics Ltd is a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-unit conglomerate company. It has products in the areas of radars, missile systems, military communications, naval systems, electronic warfare & avionics and so on. BEL's non-defence business segment includes areas such as electronic voting machines, homeland security & smart cities, etc. 

The company earns 66.2 per cent from defence segment, 29.4 per cent from the non-defence segment and 4.3 per cent from other services. 

At 11.52 am on Friday, its share was trading 0.14 per cent higher at Rs 141.10 on BSE. The share recorded an intraday high of Rs 143.20 and an intraday low of Rs 140.10 on BSE.
