Balaji Telefilms sells distribution rights of 4 most awaited movies

Balaji Telefilms Limited has sold its theatrical distribution rights for its upcoming four exciting movies for over Rs. 100 crore. Pen Marudhar Entertainment which is the subsidiary of Pen Studios has acquired the distribution rights for Mental Hai Kya, Jabariya Jodi, Dream Girl and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare.

Earlier, the company had sold the satellite, digital and music rights for these films to Zee Entertainment Enterprise. Post the sale of these theatrical distribution rights for these movies, the company has recovered all its costs associated with the movies by way of minimum guarantee and is on the path to deliver a sizeable profit in the movie business.

Mental Hai Kya stars two powerhouse performers Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao, who will be seen battling it out in this bizarre thriller. Jabariya Jodi would explore the weird concept of groom kidnapping in a humorous way starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra.

The other two movies in the slate include an out and out comedy Dream Girl starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma rounds up the slate. This exciting slate along with its strategy of curating clutter breaking film content will lead the company on the path of strong profitability.

Reacting to this, stock of Balaji Telefilms opened gap up 8.85 per cent at Rs. 65.80 on Friday from its previous close of Rs. 60.45.
