Ashok Leyland February sales jump to 13,703 units; stock trades higher by 1 per cent

Hinduja Group flagship company, Ashok Leyland gained one per cent intraday on March 01, 2021, after the company reported its monthly sales figure for the month of February 2021.   

The company reported a 19 per cent increase in the total sales in February at 13,703 units as against 11,475 vehicles sold in the year-ago period. The total sales grew 4.4 per cent at 13,703 units against 13,126 units (MoM), the company said in an exchange filing. 

The sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles in the domestic market during the month under review increased 5 per cent to 7,114 units as against 6,745 units in the year-ago period. Its light commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market jumped 46 per cent at 5,662 units against 4,107 units (YoY) while the medium & heavy commercial vehicle sales were up by 6 per cent at 7,802 against 3,867 units (YoY).

At 3.20 pm today, the company’s stock was trading at Rs 129.80, up by 0.77 per cent. The scrip also witnessed a spurt in volume by more than 1.23 times. The 52-week high of the company was recorded at Rs 138.85 while its 52-week low is Rs 33.70.
