L&T Construction wins major water treatment orders
Larsen & Toubro Construction has received a water and effluent treatment contract. The project involves order execution for clients across the various states of India.
The contract will mainly focus on states such as Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Odisha. Tamil Nadu government gave orders for the execution of Athikadavu-Avinashi scheme, which focuses on alleviating farmer distress in drought-hit areas in the state and for the construction of a new regulator across the southern and northern arms of the Coleroon river on the downstream side of the existing regulator at Mukkombu (Upper Anaicut) near Tiruchirappalli. The second order consists of providing underground sewage collection system. The scope of the order involves building a network of about 280 km of sewage pumping & lifting stations.
In Jharkhand, the company has secured a contract for the execution of the Garwah Lift Irrigation Scheme on an EPC basis. L&T Construction also received an order to execute work of building Integrated infrastructure development works which include wastewater systems, storm water drainage, water supply and recycling water systems, transport ET circulation (road), power infrastructure, smart street lighting systems and land development in ABD area of Ranchi Smart City on an EPC basis.
The Odisha order was a repeat order. The company will work to design, engineering, supply & erection of 2,806 km of distribution pipeline. Another order from the Water Resources Department, Government of Odisha has been secured for executing a Mega Lift Irrigation Project Cluster IV (MLIP Cluster IV).
Total order value falls under the company's classification for 'major order' which puts its value in between Rs. 5,000 crore to Rs. 7,000 crore.
