Airtel collaborates with Qualcomm Technologies to accelerate 5G in India
India's premier communications solutions provider, Bharti Airtel Ltd announced on Tuesday that the company will work in partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc to accelerate 5G in India.
Airtel will leverage its network vendors and device partners to utilise Qualcomm SG RAN platforms to roll-out virtualised and open RAN-based SG networks.
Additionally, Airtel and Qualcomm Technologies will collaborate to enable a wide array of use cases, including 5G, fixed wireless access (FWA) that is designed to deliver broadband connectivity at Gigabit speed to homes and businesses.
This collaboration also aims to enable a faster rollout of broadband services in a cost-effective and expeditious manner across India. With Airtel's integrated service portfolio coupled with Qualcomm Technologies' 5G leadership, it will be well-placed to lead India into the next era of hyper fast and ultra-low latency digital connectivity.
At 12.37 pm, its share was trading at Rs 572.20, 0.26 per cent higher than its previous close of Rs 570.70 on BSE.
