Agrochemical companies shine on YTD basis

By market share, Bayer CropScience, Rallis India and BASF are considered to be amongst the top players in the industry.

On a YTD basis, the shares of agrochemical companies have witnessed a strong bullish trend.

In the last one month, Insecticides India gained around 36.12 per cent while it jumped around 58.84 per cent on a YTD basis. 

The shares of agrochemical company, India Pesticides got listed at Rs 360 per share on July 5 at a premium of 21.63 per cent. The company’s IPO worth Rs 800 crore was subscribed 29 times during June 23-25, 2021. 

Despite undergoing challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic, the agricultural sector has been on a strong footing, owing to normal monsoon seasons in the past two years along with normal season expected this year. Additionally, the government's support to the sector has acted to be a growth booster.  

The Indian agrochemical industry makes up to 15 per cent of the global industry. The industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8-10 per cent by 2025 according to a data by FCCI. By market share, Bayer CropScience, Rallis India and BASF are considered to be amongst the top players in the industry. The agrochemical industry has a strong growth potential with increasing exports as well as domestic demand.
