15 per cent equity schemes offer more than 25 per cent returns

Double-digit returns in the longer term is what most mutual fund investors desire for. Mutual fund investments are meant for the long-term wealth creation and investors usually invest in the schemes for achieving long-term financial goals.

In the recent past, the Indian markets have witnessed a roller coaster ride where it has witnessed huge corrections as well as touched all-time highs. Thus this volatility has made investors more cautious about investing and forced investors to check various parameters before investing in any mutual fund schemes.

Since the last couple of years, the equity funds have been the sweetheart of investors due to their high return potential. And even currently, we observer that many retail investors are betting more on the equity funds, so in-line with this trend, we have done a thorough analysis of all the equity funds and its trailing 5-year returns.

There are 325 equity schemes of which 51 schemes have managed to offer annualised returns of more than 25 per cent in the last 5 years. That is around 15 per cent of the total schemes have been offering a return of more than 25 per cent. We have considered 5-year returns to evaluate the long-term performance of the schemes. If we see the returns of small-cap, large and mid-cap category funds have been topping the returns chart. These schemes with double-digit returns should be considered in the upcoming period. With this analysis, we can say that equity funds still form a great option for higher returns in the long run and that investors just need to be patient even if the market is volatile.

Below are the top 5 schemes among the 51 schemes which have offered returns of more than 25 per cent.
