Market Orders Placed During Market Hours : If you make a trade during market hours, your order will be confirmed in few minutes after your order has been placed. This is to ensure fair play (explained in the fair play rule).
Market Open Orders Placed During Market Hours and During Off Hours : If you place a market open order, the order will be not be executed until the market opens on the next trading day.
Limit Orders Placed During Market Hours and During Off Hours : If you place a limit order the order is submitted to the order book, where it will wait for the market price to move up to your order price (if it is a sell order) or down (if it is a buy order).
Stop Loss Order : Stop loss orders ("stops") are limits set by traders at which they will automatically enter or exit trades - an order to buy or sell is placed in the market if price reaches a specifielimit. A stop loss order is set to limit a trader's potential loss. A stop is placed below the current price (to protect a long position) or above the current price (to protect a short position). Example: If you purchase 500 shares of Company A at Rs 80 you may decide to place a stop loss order. Example: Sell 500 shares if price is less than or equal to Rs 75. If price falls to Rs 75, your order will be activated. Your loss is likely to be limited to Rs 5.00 per share (plus brokerage).
End of the Portfolio Value : Your final game ranking is dependent on the portfolio value at the end of the periods. At that point, your portfolio value is calculated from closing prices on the final day of your trading session added onto whatever uninvested cash you hold.
Short Sell :You can place a short sell order by choosing the scrip you want to short, add quantity and select short button Short selling is the practice where a trader sells shares that he actually does not own, in an anticipation that the share price will fall later in the trading day and he can get benefited by buying them later at lower price.
Fair Play : Stock prices are displayed in near real-time. Orders (including market orders) will take few minutes to transact. This rule ensures Fair play. The order is matched with the price ticks received from the exchange after the timestamp of order placed. i.e. if an order is placed at 11:12 am then this order will be tried for execution on the prices received from the exchange on and after 11:12 am. Since Stock prices are displayed in near real-time.
End of Day : Orders that remain un-executed till the closing of the day are flushed out i.e. deleted from the system. They appear in the history tab with the reason on why they could not be executed.
Illiquid Stocks : The system only allows purchase of stocks that have a minimum average daily volume (for the past 1 week) of Rs 100,000. This ensure players cannot trade on illiquid stocks to artificially boost portfolio performance.
Volume : The order will only transact to the extent of the volume of shares transacted as of that time in the market. Example, If you are interested in buying stock in Company A, and it has a trading volume of 1,000 shares at the time the user was placing a trade, you would be able to buy up to a maximum of 1,000 shares. If you place an order that exceeds the actual trading volume, it will partially fill the order to the maximum volume limit. The remaining shares will expire.
Circuit Filter : The system prevents a player from buying a stock if the stock has hit the upper circuit. Similarly it prevents a player from selling a stock hitting the lower circuit. Again, this is to make the simulation realistic and non-manipulative.
Corporate Benefits : All corporate benefits are applied to the concerned stocks held in portfolio on the ex-date. Details of these are available in the History tab. Corporate Benefits typically comprise of Dividend, Bonus, Split, Merger and De-Merger activity.
