On Friday, amid volatility, the benchmark indices were trading down. On the sectoral front, the maximum indices ended on a negative note. BSE FMCG Index and BSE Healthcare Index were the top gaining sectors whereas BSE IT Index and BSE Teck Index were the top losing sector.
At 15:30 IST, Sensex closed on a negative note, down around 389 points or 0.62 per cent at 62,181.68. In the broader markets, the indices traded lower with the BSE Mid-Cap index down by 0.45 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap index down by 1 per cent, respectively. Yes Bank was the top mid-cap stock up by 11 per cent to Rs 19.70 whereas Optiemus Infracom Ltd was the top small-cap stock up by 11.71 per cent to Rs 363.50.
The Nifty-50 also closed on a negative note, down around 112.75 points or 0.61 per cent at 18,662.40. Top Gainers of Nifty-50 were Nestle India Ltd, up by 2.30 per cent to Rs 20,260 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, up by 1.24 per cent to Rs 993.
