At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 168.46 points or 0.21 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 80,243.31 signifying a loss of 134.82 points or 0.17 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.04 per cent, power zoomed by 0.78 and auto soared by 0.62 per cent.
Meanwhile, Avalon Technologies Ltd , Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd and Dhani Services Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Avalon Technologies Ltd an S&P BSE company, surged 13.56 per cent to trade at 669.95 apiece. The company has announced its financial results for the second quarter ending September 30, 2024. Revenue grew by 37.9 per cent on QoQ basis and 36.8 per cent on YoY basis. Gross Margin is at 36.8 per cent. Order book increased by 19.4 per cent YoY.
Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd rallied 9.53 per cent to trade at Rs 1073.70 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
