At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a gain of 4 points or 0.0.01 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 74,077.34, signifying a gain of 240 points or 0.34 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.47 per cent, power zoomed by 0.44 and auto soared by 0.05 per cent.
Meanwhile, ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd, G R Infraprojects Ltd and Blue Dart Express Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
G R Infraprojects Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 6.89 per cent to trade at Rs 1,024.45 apiece. G R Infraprojects Ltd has been selected as the bidder for a National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project worth Rs 4,262.78 crore. The project involves the construction of the Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Road, including a six-lane access-controlled highway and strengthening of the existing Agra-Gwalior section of NH-44 across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. The contract will be executed under the DBFOT (Toll) model within 910 days from the appointed date.
Blue Dart Express Ltd, an S&P BSE company, jumped 6.47 per cent to trade at Rs 6,041.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
