Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 447.05 points or 0.57 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 78,618.31 signifying a gain of 576.72 points or 0.08 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.98 per cent, power zoomed by 0.92 and auto soared by 0.72 per cent.
Meanwhile, India Cements Ltd, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd and Redtape Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
India Cements Ltd an S&P BSE company, surged 6.78 per cent to trade at Rs 362 apiece. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved UltraTech Cement Limited's acquisition of a 32.72 per cent stake in the Company from promoters and other shareholders through the purchase of 10,13,91,231 equity shares at Rs. 10 each. Additionally, UltraTech will make an open offer to public shareholders for 26% equity, comprising 8,05,73,273 shares at Rs. 390 per share.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd rallied 6.19 per cent to trade at Rs 471 apiece. The company has secured a prestigious domestic order valued at approx. Rs 1,200 crore
Redtape Ltd an S&P BSE company, climbed 6.09 per cent to trade at Rs 907 apiece. The company has announced that its Board of Directors will meet on December 26, 2024, to consider key proposals, including an interim dividend on equity and preference shares for FY 2024-25, an increase in authorized share capital for a potential bonus issue, and the issuance of bonus equity shares. The record date for the interim dividend, if approved, is set for January 3, 2025.
