At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 58.92 points or 0.07 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 79,465.34 signifying a loss of 337.45 points or 0.42 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.3 per cent, power zoomed by 0.8 and auto soared by 0.57 per cent.
Meanwhile, Aether Industries Ltd, Divi's Laboratories Ltd and Paisalo Digital Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Aether Industries Ltd an S&P BSE company, surged 6.57 per cent to trade at Rs 877.05 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Divi's Laboratories Ltd rallied 4.50 per cent to trade at Rs 6448.75 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Paisalo Digital Ltd an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.49 per cent to trade at Rs 53.50 apiece. The company is raising funds by issuing 7.5 per cent Secured Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds up to USD 75 Million in one or more tranches with a maturity of 5 years as per applicable ECB guidelines set forth by the Reserve Bank of India.
