Top gaining stocks: These healthcare stocks surged over 10 per cent despite a sharp decline in domestic markets!

The only sector which was least affected today was the BSE Healthcare Index, which plunged 1.18 per cent to Rs 23,493.96, despite a sharp decline in the domestic market.

This week, the benchmark indices were trading lower. BSE Sensex plummeted on Friday, down around 981 points or 1.61 per cent at 69,845.20. About 474 shares had advanced, 3,113 declined and 68 were unchanged.

Shares of pharmaceutical and healthcare businesses increased today as concerns over the Covid outbreak increased. The Union Health Ministry is hosting a meeting on the Covid-19 situation in response to reports of an increase in Covid-19 cases in China, Japan, the United States of America and Brazil.
