BSE Smallcap index has thrust into the spotlight soaring by 4.19 per cent.

We believe that going forward, stock-specific action would continue to be the name of the game on D-Street and hence, we have selected the best stock for traders as well as investors based on the T20 Breakout system. 

BSE Small-cap index held its ground and outperformed broader markets by closing at 30,551.15, marginally up by 0.03 per cent. 

Despite strong sell-off in the markets, there are certain stocks that command attention. These stocks are selected on basis of the T20 Breakout system.  

Interestingly, it was the IT sector again that provided the much-needed support to the index and this was quite evident from the fact that among the top three contributors, two were from the IT sector namely, Infosys & TCS.   

Interestingly, the index moved in a range of 116 points, which was the narrowest in the last seven trading sessions; as a result, the index has formed an NR7 bar.  Among sectoral indices, Nifty Energy and Nifty IT were the top two gainers while on the flip side, Nifty Metal & Nifty FMCG turned out to be the top losers.

Buying interest was visible in the broader market indices as well with Nifty Midcap and Smallcap 100 advancing 0.85 per cent & 1.28 per cent, respectively. Nifty Smallcap 100 index is just 1.8 per cent away from its all-time high.   

There were 91 companies that gave returns better than the index.
