On Thursday, Indian stocks experienced a decline, driven by IT stocks, in response to the Federal Reserve's continued efforts to combat inflation, despite signalling a potential pause in interest rate hikes.

This comes after a strong trading session on Tuesday, where the market nearly regained the losses from the previous day.

On January 30, the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned out to be the net sellers of shares worth Rs 6,792.80 crore and the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) turned out the net buyers of shares worth 5,512.63 crore.

After a weak opening on Wednesday, the Indian stock markets extended their losses.
