On Thursday, the equity markets extended their gains after opening in green and ended comfortably higher.  

At 12.45 pm, on Monday, the core equity indices i.e Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading marginally higher than their opening levels, with Sensex gaining the 57,000- mark and Nifty maintaining the levels at 17,000. The FIIs have again started selling off in the domestic markets as the geopolitical tensions still persist around the world.

March 23, 2022 marks the second anniversary since the market crashed and touched its lowest poins due to the outbreak of pandemic and declaration of lockdown. Since the same day, Nifty has managed to travel a long way by registering attractive 127 per cent return.

On Monday, the equity markets ended an extremely volatile trading session closing in red for the fourth consecutive session due to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia situation. Media and metal stocks witnessed profit booking at higher levels while some buying interest was seen in banking and financial stocks.
