Sundaram Global Brand Fund opens for subscription
Sundaram Mutual has launched a fund of fund scheme that will invest as a feeder fund into the Sundaram Global Brand Fund (earlier known as Sundaram Global Advantage Fund), Singapore. This feeder fund was launched in June 2015 and managed since by Sundaram Asset Management Pte. Ltd. Singapore, a 100% subsidiary of Sundaram Asset Management Company, India. The plan is open for a subscription now.
This FOF provides Indian retail investors an opportunity to participate in international equities and indirectly own some of the leading brands of the world. Though some of these brands, such as Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, are domiciled in some other country, they are doing good business here. So, by investing in the fund, an investor is not only getting exposure to growth outside India but also within India, which is not captured by any listed company in India.
The fund has a 30-stock portfolio and the current top 10 holdings are Apple, Amazon, McDonald's, Walt Disney, Coca Cola, Procter & Gamble, Microsoft, Alphabet Inc., IBM, and Toyota Motor Corp. Although operational in India, most of these companies are not listed and hence, the growth in these companies is not enjoyed by Indian investors. However, this fund will help you capture this growth.
The fund is well suited for someone who wants his kid’s education abroad or international vacation as it will protect it from vagaries of currency fluctuation.
