Stocks to watch: These smallcap stocks will be in focus on Monday!

Brigade Enterprises, Jagsonpal Pharmaceuticals, The Tinplate Company of India, Timken India, Shah Alloys, Xpro India, SEL Manufacturing, Madhya Bharat Agro Products, Greenpanel Industries, Nahar Poly Films, Usha Martin and Polyplex Corporation made a fresh 52-week high today.

On Thursday, Indian equity markets continued yesterday’s upward trajectory. Core equity indices Nifty 50 and Sensex closed the session with gains of 1.84 per cent each at 57,863.9 and 17,287. 

BSE Smallcap index also ended in the green territory at 27,706.32 recording gains of 1.18 per cent. Top gainers of the index include RPG Lifesciences, GOCL Corporation, Angel One, KEI Industries, IFB Industries, Hindustan Construction and Control Print. Top losers comprise Future Retail, Future Consumer, Future Enterprises, and GTPL Hathaway.  

The following smallcap stocks are likely to be in focus on Monday, March 21, 2022:  

Hindustan Construction Company – The company in consortium with Om lnfra Ltd (OMIL), has been awarded Rs 609 crore contract by Public Health Engineering Department, Govt of Rajasthan, for the construction of the Nokha Water Supply Project to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in Bikaner District. HCC’s share in the joint venture is 50 per cent. 

MBL Infrastructures - The Learned Arbitral Tribunal has passed a majority award dated March 16, 2022, for a sum of Rs 78.84 crore (including interest) plus further interest at 8 per cent per annum till the payment of the award amount in favour of MBL Infrastructures Ltd against West Bengal Highway Development Corporation Ltd, for a road project in the state of West Bengal. The minority award is for a sum of Rs 186.64 crore plus further interest of 8 per cent per annum till the payment of the award amount to the company. 

To quote the Chairman and Managing Director of the company Anjanee Kumar Lakhotia, from a filing with the exchange, “We shall now start bidding for selected new projects and with the impetus of the government on infrastructure projects which is core competency area of the Company, MBL expects to win new orders in near future.
