At noon on Tuesday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher by a per cent each.

At noon on Tuesday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher by a per cent each. Sensex was at 52,380.30, up by 782.36 points or 1.52 per cent while Nifty 50 was at 15,588.05, up by 237.90 points or 1.55 per cent.    

Stock futures rose in the overnight trade on Monday, following a brutal week as investors assessed a more aggressive Federal Reserve along with the rising chances of a recession.  

Governor of Reserve Bank of Australia, Philip Lowe remarked that he expects the inflation in Australia to peak at around 7 per cent by the end of the year as pandemic-related supply chain disruptions have got resolved.  

The crude oil price has increased by 1.78 per cent and is trading at $111.51 per barrel whereas the 10-year US Treasury yield is at 3.28 per cent.    

The Asia-Pacific markets were mostly buoyant on Tuesday while Bitcoin continued to rise after a recent rebound.  

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Titan Company, HCL Technologies, Tata Motors, TCS, and Hindalco Industries. Meanwhile, the only loser pulling down the index is Reliance Industries.   

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 23,958.04, up by 2.29 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Gujarat Sidhee Cement, Thirumalai Chemicals, Subex, Suven Life Sciences, and HCL Infosystems. Each of these stocks has gained more than 9 per cent. Similarly, the Top Losers include KPR Mill, Apar Industries, Sadbhav Engineering, Future Supply Chain Solutions, and Future Lifestyle Fashions. 

On the sectoral front, all the sectors were trading in the green wherein BSE IT, BSE Consumer Durables, BSE Oil & Gas are trading higher by 3 per cent each.
