At 1.30 pm on Monday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading marginally higher since the morning session. The Sensex was trading at 57,824, down by 172.68 points or 0.30 per cent, while Nifty was at 17,283.80 down by 38.40 points or 0.22 per cent from the last trading session.
On the BSE, 885 shares have advanced, 2462 shares declined, whereas 163 shares are unchanged.
The top gainers of Nifty 50 are Shree Cements, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corporation of India, and Tata Motors. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Coal India, ONGC, UPL, Hindalco Industries, and TCS.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 27,432.71, down by 1.14 per cent. The top five gainers are Salasar Techno Engineering, TCPL Packaging, Chalet Hotels, Federal-Mogul Goetze, and Linde India. Each of these stocks gained more than 15 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include Omaxe, Puravankara, Restaurant Brands International, R Systems International, and Elgi Equipments.
Most of the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading bearish, except for BSE Private Bank, BSE Finance and BSE Auto, which were showing an uptrend.
