Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on August 8

The FIIs bought equity worth Rs 1,605.81 crore on Friday (August 5) while the DIIs sold equity net worth of Rs 495.94 crore. Metal, power, and energy stocks are seen outperforming the markets today.

At 11.30 am on Friday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 are trading marginally higher, followed by a good earnings week and economic data improvement.    

The shares in Asia Pacific markets are giving mixed signals with China reporting better export figures for July.  

Shanghai Composite climbed 0.03 per cent and Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.26 per cent whereas Hang Seng index plunged 1.06 per cent. 

The US stock futures were trading flat as investors shift their focus to the inflation data after the markets reacted to the excellent jobs report for the month of July.  Nasdaq Composite ended lower by 0.50 per cent and S&P 500 index dropped 0.16 per cent.    

Sensex is at 58,654.33, up by 266.40 points 0.46 per cent whereas Nifty 50 is at 17,463.90, up by 66.40 points 0.38 per cent. Nifty Bank is up by 0.36 per cent at the 38,054.60 level.

Crude oil is trading at $89.75 per barrel whereas the 10-year US Treasury yield is at 2.81 per cent.  

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Coal India, Hindalco Industries, HDFC Bank, NTPC, and Mahindra & Mahindra. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are BPCL, SBI, Britannia Industries, Hero MotoCorp, and Infosys. 

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 27,699.30, up by 0.34 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Apex Frozen Foods, Rushil Décor, Jagran Prakashan, Repro India, and BASF India. Each of these stocks gained more than 8 per cent. Similarly, the top losers were Techno Electric & Engineering, Tarsons Products, Honda India Power Products, Indostar Capital Finance, Shipping Corporation of India, and Zensar Technologies. 

On the sectoral front, the indices of BSE Metal, BSE Utilities, BSE Power, and BSE Capital Goods, were trading higher by per cent each.
