At 11.30 am, on Thursday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50, fell for the third consecutive day due to poor global cues. The price of crude oil fell below $100 and is trading at $ 97.54 per barrel.

Indian investors are now looking forward to the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee bi-monthly meeting, which is going to be held on April 8, 2022, which might give hint about the future of rate hikes in India in the background of the Federal Reserves rate hike announcement. 

The 10-year US Treasury yield is at 2.57 per cent , as the Nasdaq and S&P 500 markets closed lower by 1 per cent to  2 per cent yesterday. 

The Sensex was at 59,289.85 down by 320.56 points or 0.54 per cent, while the Nifty was at 17,725.25 down by 82.40 points or 0.46 per cent from the last trading session.       

On the BSE, 2,052 shares have advanced, 1,196 shares declined, whereas 1119 shares are unchanged.       

The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are NTPC, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, Eicher Motors, and Axis Bank. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Titan Company, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Wipro, and Reliance Industries. 

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,815.20 up by 0.40 per cent. The top five gainers are BLS International, Shree Renuka,3i Infotech, Poonawalla Financial Services, and TARC. Each of these stocks gained more than 15 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include Escorts, IDFC, Tata Teleservices, BCL Industries, and Technocraft Industries. 

Sector-wise speaking, BSE Power and BSE utilities were up by 2 per cent, and BSE Realty was up by 1 per cent. On the other hand, BSE IT, BSE Consumer Durables, and BSE Metal were dragging the Sensex by almost 1 per cent. 

 Following is the list of low-priced stocks that made a fresh 52-week high on Thursday. Keep a close eye on these counters for the upcoming sessions.
