Sterlite Technologies joins hands with Facebook Connectivity

Sterlite Technologies has announced collaboration with Facebook Connectivity to develop Evenstar radio units for the open RAN ecosystem. The two companies are joining forces to design & develop 4G as well as 5G radio products as part of ‘Evenstar’ programme to boost 5G readiness for operators around the world and facilitate acceleration of the commercial deployment of open radio access network (RAN). 

Evenstar programme is a collaborative effort by Facebook Connectivity and global industry partners to accelerate the adoption of open RAN technology. Through this collaboration, Sterlite Technologies will build two high-power advanced macro radio products. These radio products will be developed by the company over the next year and help in aiding telecom operators worldwide to scale up to commercial deployments of open networking infrastructure while simultaneously preparing their networks for open RAN 5G. 

In recent years, Sterlite Technologies has put in significant efforts in developing open, disaggregated, virtualised and programmable solutions. The company, not long ago, launched a suite of open networking products, covering 5G multi-band macro radios, 5G wireless products and Wi-Fi6 carrier-grade access solutions.
