Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on December 26!
Shares of Indian Overseas Bank, the top BSE Midcap gainer, rocketed and locked at 20 per cent upper circuits.
On Monday, amid volatility, the benchmark indices were trading up. On the sectoral front, all the indices ended the day green, except for BSE Healthcare Index, which was the only losing sector. About 2,876 shares have advanced, 759 declined and 133 are unchanged.
At 15:30 IST, Sensex closed on a positive note, up around 721.13 points or 1.20 per cent at Rs 60,566.42. In the broader markets, the indices traded higher with the BSE Mid-Cap index up by 2.31 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap index up by 3.13 per cent, respectively. Indian Overseas Bank was the top mid-cap stock, up by 20 per cent to Rs 31.45 whereas, The Hi-Tech Gears Ltd was the top small-cap stock, up by 20 per cent to Rs 264.30.
The Nifty-50 also closed on a positive note, up around 207.80 points or 1.17 per cent at 18,014.60. Top Gainers of Nifty-50 were State Bank of India, up by 4.02 per cent to Rs 597.10 and IndusInd Bank, up by 4.02 per cent to Rs 1,194.
BSE Power Index and BSE Utilities Index were the top gaining sectors soaring by more than 3 per cent respectively. Energy and Power stocks were among the top-gaining stocks on BSE.
