The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices were trading in the green on Tuesday with the Sensex up 0.02 per cent at 81,712, and the Nifty-50 up 0.03 per cent at 25,018. About 2,148 shares have advanced, 1,814 shares have declined and 89 shares were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 82,129.49 on August 01, 2024, and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 25,078.30 on August 01, 2024.
The broader markets were in the mixed territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index up 0.58 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.50 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Tata Elxsi Ltd, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, JSW Infrastructure Ltd and Tata Technologies Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers are Datamatics Global Services Ltd, Goldiam International Ltd, Tata Investment Corporation Ltd and NIIT Ltd.
On the sectoral front, the indices were trading mixed with the BSE Telecommunication Index and BSE Teck Index being the Top Gainers while the BSE Metals Index and BSE FMCG Index were the Top Losers.
BSE-listed companies' market capitalisation is approximately - Rs 4.63 lakh crore or USD 5.52 trillion as of August 27, 2024. On the same day, 359 stocks hit a 52-week high while 20 stocks touched a 52-week low.
