The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices were trading in the red on Monday with the Sensex down 0.07 per cent at 79,649, and the Nifty-50 down 0.08 per cent at 24,347. About 1,942 shares have advanced, 2,126 shares have declined and 117 shares were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 82,129.49 on August 01, 2024, and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 25,078.30 on August 01, 2024.
The broader markets were in the green territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index up 0.04 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.51 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Voltas Ltd, Macrotech Developers Ltd and Oil India Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers are Panacea Biotec Ltd, Inox Wind Ltd and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd
On the sectoral front, the indices were trading mixed with the BSE Realty Index and BSE Consumer Durables being the Top Gainers while the BSE Utilities Index and BSE FMCG Index were the Top Losers.
