RailTel Corporation of India wins order worth Rs 25.46 crore
RailTel Corporation of India, a company engaged in information & communications technology (ICT) infrastructure services announced on Thursday that it has secured an order worth Rs 25.46 crore (plus GST).
The company has received the order from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the commissioning of point-to-point links. It is an advance purchase order, which will be valid for a period of one year and further extendable by two years for the aforementioned order.
RailTel is a Miniratna (Category-I) central public sector enterprise, which is wholly-owned by the Government of India and comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. It aims to modernise the existing telecom system for train control, operation & safety as well as to generate revenue by creating nationwide broadband & multimedia network by laying optical fibre cable by using rights-of-way along the railway tracks.
RailTel Corporation of India debuted on February 26, 2021, on both exchanges (BSE & NSE). It listed at Rs 104.60 with an 11.27 premium on BSE and gained 15.95 per cent as against its issue price of Rs 94 apiece on NSE.
At 11.22 am today, its share was trading at Rs 167.50, up by 1.15 per cent against its previous close of Rs 165.60. It has an intraday high and an intraday low of Rs 169.00 and Rs 152.30, respectively on BSE.
