Indian headline indices trimmed their gains but finished slightly higher. The BSE Sensex edged up by 0.02 per cent to the 59,846 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index gained 0.14 per cent to a level of 17,624.
BSE Realty surprised investors with over 4 per cent gains, powered by a more than 9 per cent rally in shares of Godrej Properties Ltd. Utilities and power stocks gained significantly as well.

Tata Motors - Tata Motors, the top Sensex gainer, witnessed its shares soar up to 8 per cent during the session's opening trade after the company reported an 8 per cent year-on-year rise in its global wholesale vehicle sales. Shares trimmed their gains but still closed the session more than 5 per cent higher.
DLF Ltd - Shares surged more than 5 per cent, leading the gains in the large-cap pack. The company earlier reported record-breaking pre-formal launch sales of more than Rs 8,000 crore for its premium high-rise residences.
GAIL (India) Ltd - GAIL Gas Limited is also aligning its pricing structure with the Government of India's guidelines in order to pass on new domestic gas pricing benefits to its customers and has announced a significant price decline. Shares ended the session 0.47 per cent higher.
