The shares of Igarashi Motors India surged and got locked in a 20 per cent upper circuit, outperforming the rest of BSE Smallcap pack.
The majority of the Asian indices fell today, replicating the direction of US markets. With a loss of 140 points, SGX Nifty indicated a gap-down opening for India's broader index. In line with global market weakness, the Indian benchmark indices started the day lower, dragged by auto, real estate, and banking stocks. The indices then reversed some of their previous losses but remained in the red.
BSE Basic Materials was the top-gaining sector, led by National Peroxide Ltd, which soared more than 10 per cent after the company declared a dividend. The telecom and healthcare sectors experienced significant gains.
The broader markets outpaced the major indices and ended higher. The shares of Igarashi Motors India surged and got locked in a 20 per cent upper circuit, outperforming the rest of BSE Smallcap pack. Price-volume breakouts were seen in the shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers and Tarsons Products, which saw gains of over 13 per cent each.
Despite the market weakness, Nyssa Corporation and Filtra Consultants & Engineers were the top low-priced gainers on BSE, locking in a 20 per cent upper circuit.
