Market wrap: The benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a negative note!

About 909 stocks were advancing as against to 3,010 that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 3:45 PM: On Friday, the market showed muted sentiment. The benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a negative note, with the Sensex dipped by 0.91 percent to 80,604.65, while the Nifty dropped by 1.09 percent to 24,530.90.

Furthermore, the broader market experienced declines, with the Nifty Mid-cap closing down by 2.11 per cent and the Nifty Small-cap falling by 2.29 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has rallied by 2.17 per cent, closing below 15 this is reflecting an increase in market volatility.

In the sectoral landscape, there are no sectors among the top gainers. While Nifty Energy, Nifty Auto and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

Market Update at 2:15 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a muted note with the Sensex trading lower by 0.69 per cent touching 80,7552.83 mark, while Nifty plunged by 0.94 per cent breaking the level of 24,558.50 points.

In contrast to this, in the broader indices Nifty Mid-cap plunged by 1.93 per cent, while Nifty Small-cap dipped by 1.72 per cent.

India VIX has soared by 2.62 per cent, indicating significant increase in market volatility.

In the sectoral landscape, there are no sectors among the top gainers. While Nifty Energy, Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

About 914 stocks are advancing as against 2,948 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:05 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a negative note with Sensex plunged by 0.37 per cent, while Nifty dipped by 0.51 per cent.

Similarly, in the broader indices, the Nifty Mid-cap experienced a significant decline of 2.03 per cent, while the Nifty Small-cap dropped by 2.04 per cent.

India VIX is has soared by 0.05 per cent, indicating a slight increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers while Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy are among the top losers.

The broader market sentiment is negative, with 823 stocks advancing compared to 2,795 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: On Friday, Indian markets opened trading session on a muted note. Similarly, the Broader indices also displayed negative performance.

The Sensex is trading down by 0.19 per cent above the 81,187.55 mark while the Nifty has also dipped by 0.35 per placed at 24,722.30 level.

Whereas, in the broader, the Nifty Mid-cap declined by 1.11 per cent trading below the 56,468.95 level and the Nifty Small-cap plunged by 0.89 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 0.68 per cent, indicating a decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG was among the top gainers while Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal are the major sectors which is underperformed!

About 989 stocks are advancing as against to 2,083 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre market at 8:20 AM: The Indian equity market reached new record highs and continued its winning streak for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday, driven by gains in IT, banking, and FMCG stocks.

At the close, the Sensex rose by 626.91 points or 0.78 per cent to 81,343.46, and the Nifty increased by 187.85 points or 0.76 per cent to 24,800.85.

The GIFT Nifty is trading lower, indicating a flat to negative start for the day, with Nifty futures trading at 24,828.50.

In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 533.06 points or 1.29 per cent to 40,665.02. The S&P 500 dropped 43.68 points or 0.78 per cent to 5,544.59, and the Nasdaq Composite decreased by 125.70 points or 0.7 per cent to 17,871.22.

Oil prices also fell on Friday, marking a second weekly decline, as mixed economic signals affected investor sentiment and strengthened the dollar.

On July 18, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought equities worth Rs 5,483 crore, while domestic institutional investors sold equities worth Rs 2,904 crore.
