Listed Waste Management Company Wins Rs 50 Crore Contract in Chhattisgarh for Cleaner Cities
New Work Order Covers Door-to-Door Collection, Transportation, and Cleaning Services Across Multiple Zones
Urban Enviro Waste Management Limited has received a work order from Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Chhattisgarh. The contract involves door-to-door garbage collection, drain cleaning, and waste transportation from residential, commercial, and market areas. The project spans multiple zones and wards, amounting to Rs 50.28 crore for one year, with a provision for extension. This aligns with the company’s vision of creating a cleaner and healthier environment through efficient waste management solutions.
Comprehensive Service Offerings
The company provides various waste management services, including collection, transportation, segregation, and disposal. Door-to-door garbage collection accounted for 57 per cent of its services in FY24, compared to just 10 per cent in FY22. Other services include collection and transportation (24 per cent), manpower supply (9 per cent), garbage processing (7 per cent), cleaning and sweeping (3 per cent), and bio-mining. These services ensure effective waste handling across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Strong Growth in Revenue and Operations
Urban Enviro’s revenue has grown over fivefold from FY22 to FY24, supported by an increase in capacity and fleet expansion. The company now manages 2,000 metric tonnes of waste daily, compared to 1,000 metric tonnes in FY22. It has completed 18 projects and is managing 18 ongoing projects across India. The company has also added 330 vehicles to its fleet since FY22, including electric vehicles and specialized equipment, improving its operational efficiency.
Expanding Geographical Presence
The company has a strong presence in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh, with its geographical focus shifting over time. Chhattisgarh now accounts for 42 per cent of its revenue, compared to just 4 per cent in FY22. It plans to expand into new states, especially Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, while strengthening its position in existing markets.
Stock Performance
At 3 PM on Wednesday, Urban Enviro Waste Management’s stock was trading at Rs 653.70, up by 2.0 per cent. Over the last year, the stock has delivered a stellar return of 63.45 per cent, and in the past month alone, it has provided a return of 25.45 per cent. This strong performance reflects growing investor confidence in the company’s expanding operations and robust growth potential.
