Funds that doubled in last one year

Last year has been phenomenal for the equity market. Large-cap indices generated returns in excess of 50 per cent in the same period. Nonetheless, the real action was in broader market as well as in some of the sectors where funds more than doubled in one-year timeframe.

Following are the funds whose NAV has doubled in the last one year:

There are two trends that are visible from the above table. Firstly, the small-cap fund dedicates the list and secondly, funds from ICICI Prudential fund house have the largest number of funds that form a part of this coveted list.

There are more than 20 funds that have generated returns in excess of 90 per cent. The following table gives you a glimpse of the return distribution of equity-dedicated funds of the last one year.

We believe that returns generated in the last one year are a once-in-a-decade opportunity and you should not expect similar returns in near future. Therefore, while planning your finances, make realistic assumptions about returns from your mutual fund investment.
