Market Wrap: Benchmark indices close on a positive note with Nifty Auto among the top gainers!

On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a positive note as Sensex gained by 0.49 per cent and closed above the 80,300 mark, while Nifty gained by 0.46 per cent and closed above 24,400 level.

Market Update at 3:35 PM: On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a positive note as Sensex gained by 0.49 per cent and closed above the 80,300 mark, while Nifty gained by 0.46 per cent and closed above 24,400 level. Similarly, the Broader market experienced gains as Nifty Midcap closed higher by 0.33 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap surged by 0.26 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has gained by 3.38 per cent and is trading above the level of 14 reflecting an increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Auto, Nifty Pharma and Nifty PSU Bank were among the top gainers, while Nifty IT and Nifty Energy are the major sectors which underperformed.

Maruti, M&M and ITC were among the top gainers while on the other hand Tata Consumer Product, Reliance and Shriram Finance were among the top losers.

About 1123 stocks were advancing as against to 1076 that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:10 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note with the Sensex trading higher by 0.5 per cent, while Nifty gained by 0.43 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has surged by 0.36 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has slightly soared by 0.55 per cent.

India VIX has gained by 5.46 per cent and is trading above the level of 14 indicating an increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Auto, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Pharma are among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Energy is the only major sector which are underperforming.

Maruti, M&M and Britannia are among the top gainers while ONGC, Shriram Finance and Reliance are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1200 stocks are advancing as against 992 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:35 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices have declined with Sensex trading higher by 0.34 per cent while Nifty also gained by 0.29 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has gained by 0.11 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.27 per cent.

India VIX is has gained by 3.42 per cent and is trading above the mark of 14 indicating an increase in market volatility.

European stocks are expected to open mixed on Tuesday as investors weigh up political uncertainty in France after Sunday’s election result. European futures DAX, CAC and FTSE trade lower by 0.39 per cent, 0.34 per cent and 0.08 per cent respectively.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Auto and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers while Nifty IT, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy are among the top losers.

Maruti, ITC and M&M are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while, Reliance, Grasim Industries and Ultratech Cement are among the top losers.

About 1176 stocks are advancing as against to 1020 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:11 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a positive note with Sensex trading higher by 0.31 per cent, while Nifty gained by 0.23 per cent. Similarly in the broader indices Nifty Midcap experience gains of 0.23 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.45 per cent.

India VIX is has gained by 2.87 per cent and is trading near the mark of 14, indicating an increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Auto and Nifty Media are among the top gainers while Nifty Energy and Nifty Realty are among the top losers.

Top gainers in individual stocks are Maruti, ITC and Titan whereas, ONGC, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Kotak Bank are among the top losers in the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment is positive, with 1260 stocks advancing compared to 930 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:40 AM: On Tuesday, Indian markets opened on a positive note while, the Broader indices displayed positive performance. Nifty Auto emerged as the top gainer, while Nifty IT experienced the largest losses.

The Sensex is trading up by 0.23 per cent above the 80,100 mark while the Nifty has also gained by 0.2 per cent and is trading around the 24,300 level. Similarly, in the broader, the Nifty Midcap gained by 0.66 per cent trading above the 57,200 level while the Nifty Smallcap surged by 0.92 per cent and is trading above the 19,000 mark!

India VIX has slightly gained by 2.3 per cent and is trading above the mark of 13, indicating increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Media, Nifty Auto and Nifty Metal were among the top gainers while Nifty IT was the only major sectors which underperformed!

Maruti, Adani Ports and Titan are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Reliance and JSW Steel are among the top losers.

About 1443 stocks are advancing as against to 669 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:25 AM: The S&P 500 and Nasdaq reached record highs on Monday as investors anticipated new inflation data, remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, and the onset of the quarterly earnings season.

The S&P 500 rose 0.10 per cent to close at 5,572.85 points, while the Nasdaq increased by 0.28 per cent to 18,403.74 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.08 per cent to 39,344.79 points.

The US 10-year yield dropped 9 basis points to 4.27, and the 2-year Treasury yield decreased 14 basis points to 4.62 in early Tuesday trading.

The GIFT Nifty indicates a positive start for the Indian Benchmark indices, with a slight gain of 0.01 per cent or 2 points. Nifty futures are currently trading near the 24,379.15 mark.

Oil prices remained largely stable early Tuesday as a hurricane impacting a major oil-producing hub in Texas caused less damage than anticipated.

Brent futures dipped 4 cents to USD 85.71 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude decreased by 5 cents to USD 82.28.

On July 08, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 60.98 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 2,866.79 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on July 09, 2024, are ABFRL, BANDHANBNK, CHAMBLFERT, GNFC, HINDCOPPER, INDIACEM, INDUSTOWER and PEL.
