Market wrap: Benchmark indices close on a higher note with Nifty Financial Services among the top gainers!

on June 26, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares amounting to Rs 409.43 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 250.12 crore.

Market Update at 3:55 PM: Sensex and Nifty close on a higher note by 0.7 and 0.68 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap close higher by 0.5 per cent and 0.6 per cent respectively.

India VIX plunged by 5.53 per cent.

Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Realty and Nifty Bank are among the top gainers whereas Nifty FMCG was among the top losers while Nifty Auto traded flat.

HDFC Life, Apollo Hospitals and JSW Steel were among the top gainers while Cipla, Britannia and Tata Consumer Product were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1195 stocks are advancing as against to 739 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.36 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.

India VIX has plunged by 4.12 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Financial Services are among the top gainers whereas Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto are among the top losers.

HDFC Life, Bharti Airtel and Divi’s Laboratories are among the top gainers while Cipla, Indusind Bank and Adani Ports are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1471 stocks are advancing as against to 327 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:10 AM: US Stock futures edged higher Monday night as investors anticipated the release of economic data and approached the end of June and the second quarter. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 41 points while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures also posted gains of about 0.2 per cent.

After an initial rise, oil prices retraced some of their gains on Monday, with West Texas Intermediate futures showing an increase of approximately 0.8 per cent at $69.74. Meanwhile, the Dollar index saw a 0.08 per cent uptick in futures at 102.78, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.00.

On Tuesday, it is expected that the market will open slightly higher based on the indication of the SGX Nifty, which shows a positive start for the benchmark indices. The SGX Nifty has gained 21 points since the opening of the session at 18,724 points. In early trade on June 27, SGX futures reached a high of 18,759 points.

Stocks that banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 27, 2023, are Hindcopper and RBL Bank.
