Wipro wins a multi-year contract from VeriFone to drive agility across its cloud services offerings
Wipro Limited announced that it has won a multi-year contract from VeriFone, a global leader in payments & commerce solutions, to drive agility across its cloud services offerings. The announcement was made on Wednesday post market hours.
Reacting to this, the stock of Wipro today jumped 1.57 per cent and made an intraday high of Rs 364.65 per share.
Under the terms of the contract, Wipro will develop new features, capabilities & interfaces for VeriFone’s cloud services offerings, enabling seamless and flexible transaction processing for the company. Wipro will accelerate time-to-market for VeriFone, assisting it to transform its customer partnerships.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 2,465.7 crore in Q2FY21, which declined by 3.41 per cent YoY, as compared to Q2FY20 when it had reported a profit of Rs 2,552.7 crore. The company reported a total income of Rs 15,651.4 crore for Q2FY21, a decrease of 1.41 per cent, as against the total income of Rs 15,875.4 crore for Q2FY20.
