The Indian equity benchmarks - BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 traded with extreme volatility amid mixed moves across the global markets. In the case of sectorial gains, realty, capital goods & telecom gained the most whereas only basic materials and information technology traded with marginal losses.
At 11.25 am, Sensex is trading in red, down by 17 points at 58,748. On the other hand, the Mid-Cap index gained 97 points and is currently, trading at a level of 25,651. Likewise, the Small-Cap index trades higher by 145 points at a level of 28,934.
Nifty 50 index has fallen by mere 15 points from its previous close, trading at a level of 17,527. Similarly, Bank Nifty dropped 16 points to the 39,284 level. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,290.31 crore on September 1 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 951.13 crore.
