In the morning trade, the major equity barometers witnessed minor losses. The Nifty traded only a little bit under 18,400 levels. While metal, consumer durables and IT shares saw a little bit of selling pressure, PSU bank and FMCG sectors saw slight gains.
At 11:05 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, is trading with slight losses, down by 126 points to 61,854 levels. In the broader market, S&P BSE Mid-Cap, have fallen by 112 points while Small-Cap index fell by 88 points.
The Nifty 50 index is currently trading at 18,364 levels after a decline of 44 points. The Bank Nifty also dropped by 98 points, trading at a level of 42,437. Top Gainers on the nifty were Larsen & Toubro, Tata Consumers, Hero MotorCorp, UPL and ICICI Bank.
On November 16, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned out to be the net sellers worth Rs 386.06 crores, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) turned out to be net buyers of shares worth 1,437.40 crores.
